OPTERRA Energy Services Named as Finalist for NAESCO Project of the Year Press Release
Modernizing healthcare infrastructure requires carefully planned, clinically appropriate execution without interruption to patient services, infection control protocols, or life-safety systems.
OPTERRA helps healthcare organizations move beyond reactive maintenance by implementing coordinated, long-term infrastructure strategies. Through energy performance contracting and innovative funding approaches, we enable hospitals to address deferred maintenance, upgrade aging systems, and improve efficiency without straining capital budgets.
Hospitals and healthcare campuses must operate without pause, even as aging infrastructure, rising operating costs, and deferred maintenance increase risk to patient safety, clinical outcomes, and regulatory compliance.
OPTERRA helps healthcare organizations maintain always-on infrastructure while stabilizing costs, improving system reliability, and reducing exposure to unplanned outages, allowing care teams to stay focused on delivering safe, high-quality patient care.

Microgrids provide hospitals and healthcare campuses with a reliable, locally controlled energy solution that keeps critical clinical operations running during grid outages while reducing long-term energy cost exposure.
OPTERRA partners with healthcare leaders to identify critical clinical and support loads, design the right mix of on-site generation and energy storage, secure available incentives, and deliver ongoing performance support. This approach strengthens operational reliability, cost predictability, and accountability across complex healthcare campuses, without disrupting patient services.
After California’s 2018 Camp Fire exposed the vulnerability of local energy infrastructure, Adventist Health partnered with OPTERRA to ensure the Feather River Rapid Care Facility could operate without interruption during grid outages.
The solution combined on-site solar generation, battery energy storage, and a permanent backup generator to create a fully integrated microgrid capable of seamless islanding. As a result, the facility remains fully operational during power disruptions while delivering cleaner, more reliable energy.
